I haven't seen it since it first aired in 1988 so I don't know if it holds up, but I think I'd still recommend the mini-series "Favorite Son", especially if you like political conspiracy thrillers. This is where Loggia was first seen as FBI agent Nick Mancuso who got his own show the following year.

And when I think of Loggia, my first thought always go to the Minute Maid commercial he made back in 1990 or so. You can find it on YouTube.

I think he was very good in everything he did, but he was wasted in the 'Columbo' episode he did with Jack Cassidy......

I agree, Loggia was perfect as Nick Mancuso, which always confused me whenever I saw the actor with the same name.

But much like my experience with Leslie Nielsen, my memories of Loggia go back to his work for Disney in the 1950's, when he starred in THE NINE LIVES OF ELFEGO BACA (much as Nielsen played THE SWAMP FOX, Francis Marion).

Wikipedia says the Minute Maid ad was 1998, by the way.

He was always one of Jackie's favorites.

RIP

Loggia made every movie he was in better. For the past five years he's been battling Alzheimer's. It's a cruel disease.

I really miss the old days.

Great actor, maybe best known to the '80s movie audience for his gangster roles in SCARFACE and PRIZZI'S HONOR. Episodes of ELFEGO BACA, SWAMP FOX, and TEXAS JOHN SLAUGHTER are posted on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPQwYgEZCnI
