No mention of Sting in "Dune"? That may not have been his debut role because I think he had a small part in "Quadrophenia," but I'll never forget the comment Peter Shales made about Sting's Dune character: "His costume consists of underwear that looks like it was made from the upholstery from the backseat of a 57 Buick." And his acting wasn't much better.

I can't disagree with Ebert about Dylan's acting (you should see...well, maybe not..."Renaldo and Clara"), but "Knocking on Heaven's Door" is a good song, especially in the context of the movie.

Jus to mention a singer who CAN act a little...Kris Kristofferson has done some very good work.

Well, maybe it wasn't technically her first film, but how could an article like this miss out on mentioning Mariah Carey in GLITTER? It almost killed her career.

Deb, BRIMSTONE AND TREACLE came out a couple of years before DUNE too.

Well, I just had to share that underwear from a 57 Buick line!

Also, let's not forget Britney Spears in "Crossroads"!

What, no comments on Justin Bieber's appearance as a psycho teenager in CSI?

Of course, maybe that didn't qualify as acting...
