#39: Jody Miller's Queen of the House. A forgotten (but not here I'm sure) response to King of the Road.

Definitely not forgotten by me. I always wondered if Jody was related to Roger.

Reminds me of "I'm the Girl From Wolverton Mountain" by Jo Ann Campbell, the sequel to Claude King's "Wolverton Mountain."

But then I'm a geezer.

Here is the NYC top 10 of 6/16/65:

1 4 I CAN’T HELP MYSELF - The Four Tops
2 1 WOOLY BULLY - Sam The Sham & The Pharaohs
3 2 MR. TAMBOURINE MAN - The Byrds
4 3 DARLING TAKE ME BACK - Lenny Welch
5 7 (I Can’t Get No) SATISFACTION - The Rolling Stones
6 5 YES, I’M READY - Barbara Mason
7 6 I DO - The Marvelows
8 12 FOR YOUR LOVE - The Yardbirds
9 10 I’VE BEEN LOVING YOU TOO LONG (To Stop Now) - Otis Redding
10 15 TONIGHT’S THE NIGHT - Solomon Burke

Cara Mia (Jay & the Americans) jumped from 21 to 11.

PS - Jo Ann Campbell appeared in two movies, the less than memorable GO, JOHNNY, GO and HEY, LET'S TWIST.

Hey, I remember those movies, especially GO, JOHNNY, GO. A classic.

I remember both of them. That twist movie was pretty bad, but then that was the same year I saw SAFE AT HOME, with Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris playing themselves.
