Needless to say (I'm sure) but there are NO hits forgotten by me on that list. Quite a few of them did not make it to #1 in New York, including Twist and Shout and Last Kiss. Also Ringo, Everybody Loves Somebody, Bread and Butter, and We'll Sing in the Sunshine. And that's just the 1964 list. These were mostly top 5 hits but not #1.

You New Yorkers never would go along with the rest of the country.

Hey, the rest of the country didn't have Soupy doing "The Mouse," did they?

No, and I'm not sure who was better off.

I love this stuff--totally my era. I haven't forgotten any of these songs, although there's a couple I'd like to!

Hey, it wasn't just New York!

"We'll Sing in the Sunshine" is a 1964 hit song written and recorded by Gale Garnett which reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the week ending 5 September 1964.

See? It wasn't #1 after all.
