The name "Athelstan Spilhaus", not your garden-variety name, certainly jogged my memory, as he was the inventor of the "Spilhaus Space Clock", sold by Edmund Scientific Company, whose catalog of mail order science fair type stuff was the Johnson Smith catalog for teenage would-be braniacs like myself. Never bought the clock (it was Edmund's prestige high-ticket item), but lots of other stuff, including their Analog Computer, comprised of potentiometers, resistors, a battery and a couple of plastic dials all housed in a green cardboard box. Big disappointment.

But probably a great collectible now.
